Born in 1998, Pasha grew up amid Neelasandra’s narrow lanes, tiny mosques, meat stalls, overflowing sewers, power cuts, heavy policing, and dense community solidarity.
His father, an auto-rickshaw driver, died while Pasha was still in school. After petty street jobs and Class 12 struggles, he worked beside his mother as a garment-factory helper. A year of physical labour led him back to evening college.
Hip-hop became a cultural response to the violence, precarity, and mutual survival he witnessed.
Identity / NEX → Pasha Bhai
A common name for a commoner.
Pasha first wrote in English and Hindi as NEX. Around 2019–20, the distance between those languages and his lived reality became impossible to ignore. Inspired by Naezy, he shifted fully to Dakhni and chose a name that could belong to anyone in the Deccan.

Language / 700 years
Dakhni is the poetry itself.
Born through migration and carried through Sufi silsilas, Dakhni flourished as the people’s lingua franca before conquest and elite language hierarchies pushed it out of literary life.

Sufi saints carry Dakhni through poetry, qawwali, sama, and nama.
Erasure
After Mughal conquest, patronage collapses and Dakhni survives in oral life.

Hip-hop turns vocabulary, memory, and neighbourhood history into an archive.
